The Indian Secular Front (ISF) approached the Calcutta High Court on Tuesday, seeking permission for a rally in front of Victoria House after police declined permission plea. Next 21st January is the foundation day of ISF. On that day, they want to hold a meeting in front of Victoria House. However, the court has not granted approval for the rally. On Wednesday, the judge questioned why other parties could hold meetings and referred to the Trinamool Congress's annual rally on July 21, asking, "If other parties can hold meetings, why not the ISF?"

The court stated that the ISF must provide an explanation by the following day regarding the violence in the previous meeting. Additionally, details about the program planning and meeting-related topics should be submitted first. The court emphasized that a decision on permission would be made after receiving these information.

ISF MLA Nausad Siddiqui, while speaking to the media said, "efforts are being made to stop our meeting in the court, but we will hold the rally peacefully keeping in mind the instructions of the court. Thanks to the court for allowing us to rally in front of Victoria House."

Speaking on CM's Sadbhavna rally,  Siddiqui said that "CM'as Sadbhavna rally on January 22  is merely a political move to gain votes. If the rally had been held on Desh Prem Diwas on the 23rd, they would have supported it. She won't get Muslims votes from such politics."
